On Friday 2 of August 2002, our annual general assembly took place in the Dorint hotel near the Westbahnhof railway station. The members came also this year again numerously, despite the summer temperatures.
After the welcome of the members and the statement of the quorum the scrutinizers were elected . Mrs. Ioana Negulescu - who worked already in this function several times  - and our new member Mrs. Jacqueline Gust  were confirmed unanimously. The approval of minutes of the  general assembly 2001 passed and afterwards the board gave its reports. In the area of exhibitions a very successful exhibition year 2001 could be reported. Statistic data were presented in a professional presentation, whereby that it has to be particularly mentioned that the number of KKÖ-exhibitors raised continuously. Also the development in the area of the pedigrees was very pleasing, whereby this positive trend will also continue this year.
The auditors Mrs. Henriette Göppert and Mrs. Dr. Susanna Lenk examined the books and emphasize the excellent bookkeeping and also the positive result.
The board  would like to thank the two auditors for their exact, objective audit of our cash which was done with excellent knowledge. Suggestions made by the auditors were implemented immediately.

Starting from 15.8.2001 Mrs. Eveline Preiss stepped in as treasurer of the KKÖ, for which she was discharged up to the end of 2001. Afterwards the discharge of responsibility of the  executive board took place. The executive board would like to thank for the great confidence of the members of KKÖ.

Before the elections, after a short presentation the adaptations of the by-laws were unanimously accepted. With those adjustments, the tasks of the executive board are clearly described and the number of members of the board is adapted to the necessities of a modern administration. The new statutes are on-line on our Website. Into the executive board the following members were elected for a period of 2 years: Mrs. Regina Wöhrer as secretary Mr. Franz Rathbauer and Mr. Klaus Koll as board members
  • As members of the commission
Mr. Herbert Braulik and Mr. Johann Wöhrer have been confirmed for a period of 2 years.
  • The members of the health commission
veterinary surgeon Mrs. Margit Kneissl, veterinary surgeon Mr. Stefan Miedler and Mrs. Eveline Preiss have been confirmed for a period of 2 years.
  • Mrs. Henriette Göppert was elected as auditor for the same period.
After the elections the proposals concerning breeding and health rules were discussed. The breeding rules decided by the FIFe this year, which have been already part of our breeding rules for several years, were specified more detailed.

The breeding guidelines of the KKÖ will be split in three parts:

  • part A health and well-being of the cats,
  • part B guidelines for husbandry and
  • part C guidelines for breeding.

They are also available online. It should be particularly mentioned that the number of litters per queens are reduced to a maximum of 3 litters in 2 years including the existing minimum period between the litters. Additionally the decision was made pertaining that queens which had two cesarean births have to be taken out from the breeding programme. Under item miscellaneous we had an interesting and lively discussion, and the organization of our 3-certificate ring show in Guntramsdorf was explained.

The general assembly ended - as already traditional - with an excellent buffet, where still intensive talks about our common topic - the cats - continued.
